NO PLAY ZONE at 9th Hole Sullivans Creek Crossing

DECLARED
NO PLAY ZONE

—– In effect from 28 June 2023—–

NO PLAY ZONE at 9th Hole Sullivans Creek Crossing

Due to dangerous surface conditions from erosion, until further notice, the crossing of the Sullivans Creek drain in front of the 9th green is declared a NO PLAY ZONE

The No Play Zone area is defined by stakes connected with tape barriers, and is contained wholly within the Red Penalty Area along Sullivans Creek.

RULE 17.1e APPLIES

For a ball which comes to rest in the penalty areawithin or near the NPZ, Rule 17.1e applies:

If your ball is in the No Play Zone, penalty relief must be taken.
Otherwise, if your ball is in the penalty area and there is interference from the No Play Zone for your next stroke (eg. if you would be standing in the NPZ), relief must be taken – either:
o penalty relief outside the penalty area, with the usual options, or
o free relief within the penalty area, no nearer the hole, EXCEPT that free relief is not available from the NPZ interference if the ball is otherwise unplayable (eg.  plugged in the bank or too deep in water to make a realistic stroke).

RELIEF FROM STAKES AND TAPES

If your ball is in the penalty area but not in the NPZ, free relief may be taken in the penalty area from physical interference from the stakes and tape as per Local Rule 15 – Model Local Rule F-24.

PENALTY FOR PLAYING BALL FROM A WRONG PLACE IN BREACH OF RULE 17.1:  General Penalty under Rule 14.7a.
