Yowani Junior Development Pathway Program
The Yowani Junior Golf Development Pathway is a 3 Stage Pathway as follows:
Sub-Junior Program
Junior Development Scholarship Program
(Boys & Girls)
Rising Star Scholarship Program (Boys &Girls)
Stage 1 – Sub-Junior program
The Yowani Sub Junior program has been operating for the past 20 years
The program is conducted on a Monday evening from 3.30pm – 5.30pm in Terms 1, 2 & 4. Generally, children are accepted into the program after they have turned 7 or if they have not yet turned 14.
Children are required to pay a weekly fee of $10.00. Children of all abilities are welcomed into the program. All we ask is that they are keen to learn and be prepared to behave impeccably. The program provides excellent coaching and playing opportunities. However, while winning is celebrated it does not overshadow the program focus on:
- enjoying the game;
- learning how to play golf safely and properly;
- abiding by and learning about rules and etiquette;
- being on your best behaviour, having good manners and being respectful to all (especially the volunteer walkers);
- persevering and being self-disciplined while playing;
- meeting new friends and enjoying their company.
Yowani Golf professionals provide the formal coaching sessions and volunteer walkers (usually Yowani members) take the players on to the course to play a few holes. Participants are provided with afternoon tea and prizes after each session.
